Background of Ntake Bakery & Company Limited-Mbarara Branch

Ntake Bakery & Company Limited embarked on a journey of growth and innovation, spreading its wings into the western region with the establishment of the Mbarara branch in February 2017. This move was not just a shot in the dark; it was a well-calculated decision made after realizing that the western region had been left in the lurch, facing a significant gap in the supply of high-quality baked goods. Spotting the golden opportunity on the horizon, we knew we had to step in and rise to the occasion.

Initial Operations

In the early days, we started small by renting a modest warehouse in Kakiika, Kyamugolanyi, Mbarara City. We set up our machinery and got the ball rolling. Although operations began on a small scale, demand for our products quickly picked up steam. Month by month, we saw steady growth, and it became clear that the people of the western region had developed a taste for our baked goods. We were onto something big, and there was no turning back.

Recognizing Market Potential

By the beginning of 2018, it was evident that we had barely scratched the surface of the western market’s potential. Our initial warehouse, which had served us well in the early days, was bursting at the seams, struggling to keep up with the growing appetite for our products. Recognizing this challenge as a springboard for growth, we decided to bite the bullet and acquire land for a larger, purpose-built bakery. This was a significant leap, but we were ready to rise to the challenge and grow alongside the market.

Construction of a State-of-the-Art Facility

Construction of the new, larger bakery commenced in 2018, and by the end of 2019, our state-of-the-art facility was up and running. This new bakery allowed us to turn up the heat, significantly increasing our production capacity to meet the ever-growing demand in Mbarara and beyond. This strategic move proved to be a game-changer, enabling us to not only cater to the local market but also establish ourselves as a leading player in the region.

Success and Expansion

Since opening the doors to our larger facility, we haven’t looked back. Our operations in Mbarara have gone from strength to strength, proving that when opportunity knocks, Ntake Bakery & Company Limited is always ready to answer.

Outlets and Product Range

Today, the Mbarara branch boasts nine outlets, strategically located to serve our growing customer base. These include the Rebikoona Shop in Rebikoona, the Canteen in Kikutu, the Kizungu Shop, the Town Shop, the New Amazon Shop, the Central Shop on Western Arcade, the Kakoba Shop, the Katete Shop, and the Ishaka Shop near KIU University, locally known as "Ku Bassajja."

In addition to our baked goods, we have also extended our product range to include cooking oil and soap, further solidifying our presence in the western region.
